What did you think of the Conspiracist Manifesto?

It provides a unique and I think much needed take on politics that challenges the general worldview of leftists who supposedly are interested in emancipatory projects. First I think it does a good job of shifting our attention from abstract systems like capitalism, to physical concrete assemblages. As someone who is interested in new materialism I think this aligns with my views on how we should think differently about politics. Second the book does a thorough job of illustrating that conspiracies are a very real aspect of our world. Conspiracies create concrete enemies and I think this will allow for the production of compelling narratives that I’m betting will be more effective than abstract arguments that the left has relied on for so long. Third I think what is implied throughout the book is that these assemblages are engaging in a production of a certain subjectivity — what Nietzsche called the last man. I think what is fundamental to this particular subject is the war on our hearts and senses. I really like this because it aligns with my own views that affect theory is something that can help us shift our attention to our everyday experience and develop a perspective that can challenge widespread forms of thinking that rely on representational thought that is foundational to this war on the senses.
